SABIA announces the receipt of an order for an on-line coal analyzer from Pegasus Technologies, Inc., for a coal fired steam electric power plant at the Texas Genco Limestone Plant site under the sponsorship of the Department of Energy. The purpose of this program, titled mercury specie and multi-pollutant control, is to demonstrate plant-wide advanced control and optimization systems on a coal fired steam electric power plant in order to minimize emissions while maximizing the efficiency and byproducts of the plant as an electricity producer.

New device registration was issued by the U.S. NRC for the SABIA XL-5000 On-Belt Cement Analyzer. This device allows the quick and simple installation of an on-belt analyzer on existing raw material conveyors with little or no modifications to existing structures.

Arch Coal has purchased two of SABIA’s new Quicklabs for use at the Catenary Coal loadout, the largest surface mine east of the Mississippi. The Quicklab’s ability to deliver a quick analysis with sulfur, ash, and BTU in less than 15 minutes on samples requiring no preparation promises to enable Arch to eliminate their on-site lab.
